PASSING THE BATON

By JANE ANYANGO | FOUNDER

The Main Event
The Main Event

Passing the Baton is a heartwarming initiative dedicated to bridging the generational gap through mentorship. Recognizing that many retired trailblazers, though rich in experience and wisdom, often feel isolated, Polycom stepped in to create a nurturing environment. These esteemed elders, now celebrated as the “Circle of Wise Women,” have played pivotal roles in shaping the history of Kenya and Africa.

During Polycom’s signature event, young women, in a gesture of humility and respect, gathered at the feet of these wise women, absorbing their invaluable life lessons. This symbolic act emphasized the deep acknowledgment that today’s opportunities were built on the sacrifices and hard work of the previous generation.

The event celebrated the profound impact these trailblazers have had on advancing women’s equality and equity in the region. With 15 Circle of Wise Women sharing their stories, 45 young women benefited from this rich mentorship experience.

Polycom is committed to preserving these powerful narratives and fostering intentional mentorship, ensuring that the legacy of these remarkable women continues to inspire and guide future generations.
