Kroobay slum children have never touched a computer, 2,500 children live without classrooms, learning materials, or hope for digital future. CINORG built a small IT class with 3 old laptops - 40 children now type their names for the first time at 6 am daily. Your support will build a solar- powered Digital learning Hub to give all 2,500 their first real education and a path out of poverty.
Kroobay is Freetown's largest slum built over seawater, 2,500 children here have never touched a computer. No proper classrooms, no books, no electricity. Schools are overcrowded. When it floods, learning stops completely. Children grow up without digital skills, without basic literacy, trapped in poverty because education never reached them. They are being left behind while the world moves digital.
CINORG has already started the solution. With 3 old laptops, we run a 2.30pm IT class in Kroobay. 40 children no typed their names for the first time. Yor donation will build a solar -powered Digital Learning Hub by reusing a vacant space in the slum. It will have 20 computers, internet, and be safe from flooding. We will provide: 1. Daily IT and basic education for 2,500 children. 2. Health & well-being support. 3. Youth-led training where older students teach younger ones. 4. Connections
In 3 years, 2,500 children in Kroobay slum will have digital literacy and basic education their first real education and their path out of poverty. 200 older youth will become peer trainers, earn a small income while teach younger children, creating jobs inside the slum. The digital Learning Hub will become a permanent, community -owned safe space -solar -powered flood-resistant, with internet. Girls who were out of school will become coders, teachers, and health leaders.
