Dear Friends,
Students at the Bon Children’s Center continue with their studies and recently annual prizes were given out both for academics and sports. There are 230 students supported by scholarships at the center and recently the staff put out a request for more funds as there is a growing list of students who need help. The staff had this to say:
“Bon children are arriving at Menri from the borderlands including Nepal and Tibet and are in immediate need of food, shelter, and education. Some boys are placed in the Bon Children’s Welfare Center as young monks, and some girls go to the Redna Menling Nunnery as young nuns. Together, they attend the local Central School for Tibetan Children for their general education. After completing their education, they may choose to enter monastic life as young adults, or be trained for vocations in the secular world. These children are the future of the Bon, and for them to survive and succeed, they need your help. A sponsorship provides clothing, nutrition, healthcare, and educational needs and helps support all Menri children.“
Happy Giving Tuesday and thank you for your interest and support.
