By Gayle Savage Davidson | Founder Clinica de Esperanza (Clinic of Hope)
Miriam helps out at the Clinica de Experanza in Santa Ana when she is not is school. She also writes stories about the people who attend the clinic to help others have an understanding of the struggles her people have to endure. In one of her stories we read about a woman who walked 8 hours with her sick daughter to get to the clinic to receive care. Miriam is considering a career in healthcare.
As the pubic school system is not optimal education, she attends a private school which her family can no longer afford.
The clinic is invested in helping young people get into medical care. It is especially important for a young Honduran girl, as we belive this will help the people of Honduras in the long run and give her the opportunity to care for herself and her future family financially.
Miriam has done a fine job and has shown much compassion for the sick. Through GlobalGiving donations she will receive a $400 scholarship to aid in paying for her schooling for the rest of the semester. As she continues her journey, we hope to aid her further in her quest to work in healthcare.
Currently we are considering another Honduran woman, Ledy, for a scholarship as she is currently in the nursing program in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
