For the New Year, starting March 2019, 40 students of Khel graduated and became part of mainstream education by appearing for entrance tests for government schools and other schools established by NGOs in the area.
Through the informal education component of Khel, Imkaan aims to provide basic education to children whose parents are unable to send them to school at an early age and are found roaming the streets of machar colony while both parents are at work. Khel serves as a safe space for children to learn and grow. Imkaans informal education component.
For the academic year 2019 and 2020, 74 new children became part of Khel informal education and sports component in the age group of 5 to 10 years of age. They are in the process of learning basic English such as alphabets, colors and sentences and phrases. In Mathematics, learning about numbers, understanding the concept of bigger and larger and two-digit addition and subtraction. In Urdu, children are being taught the Urdu alphabets and names of fruits and vegetables.
Separate arts & crafts classes are also a part of the curriculum.
