Challenge

There are an estimated 3 million Myanmar migrants and refugees living in Thailand. Many come to BEAM in search of vocational and secondary education. After graduating from BEAM, our students are accepted into universities but cannot afford the high cost of tuition. Providing scholarships for higher education and internship opportunities will grant these students with the skills and knowledge they need to positively impact their communities in Burma.

Solution

CSIP helps Myanmar students continue their education and gain knowledge in fields such as community development, youth mentorship, environmental protection, health, human rights, and education. By pairing students with local organizations and NGOs, our students can help the community while simultaneously gaining work experience. In return, BEAM will provide a stipend for their university education.

Long-Term Impact

Your gift is a virtuous cycle: after graduating from university, migrant students often return to their home country to help the less fortunate. Over 2,300 people, most of whom are children, have benefited from the work of BEAM's recent graduates. Beneficiaries for this program include migrant children, youth, and teachers. We estimate over 1250 people will be positively impacted by this program.
