KUSKA AND EL ALBERGUE HOTEL PARTNERSHIP
Joaquin Randall, manager of the El Albergue hotel and member of the Kuska board of directors, tells us about the social role of his family business and its collaboration in Kuska. Since it’s inception the hotel has been one of the biggest promoters and supports of Kuska. It has allowed the school to continue to be a space for everyone who is looking for an educational alternative in Ollantaytambo!

ARCHITECTURE FOR A NEW SCHOOL
As the school grows, we realize how important it is to have our own home that allows us to lay the foundations for a long-term educational project. We dream of a more complete campus, with more spacious classrooms, a library, an auditorium, playgrounds, workshops, a school garden and lots of nature.
Our goal is to be able to provide a better infrastructure that can serve a greater number of children, creating healthy and better spaces tailored to their needs.
In July we were visited by a great friend and architect, Quino Holland, director of Fieldworks Architects in Australia, who led a participatory dream workshop. In this meeting we collected the proposals of the children, families and teachers in order to make a first design proposal, which will be socialized and outlined later. We are very excited to take this first step towards the realization of this great dream.
VOLUNTEER GROUPS
From March to July we received numerous volunteers who dedicated themselves to improving the school facilities with commitment and care.
Some of the tasks included: organizing materials, making new bins, leveling land, working in the garden, reinforcing stairs, among others.
In addition to all the hard work, our volunteer groups contribute directly to the school's Scholarship Fund and are essential to the sustainability of our project. Thanks to EF (Education First) from the USA and Life Sign Adventures from the UK for choosing us for their volunteer experience this year!
KUSKA FAMILY DAY
On this quarter of the year, we celebrated our families: the best allies in the education of our children. We spent a very pleasant morning doing what we like best: playing, sharing, eating and dancing! Thank you Kuska Family for joining us and sharing, but above all, for the trust you give us every day.
