From the Classroom to the Community

By Aima Molinari | Project Leader

1.- KUSKA RAYMI # 12

We kicked off September by celebrating Kuska Raymi, marking 12 wonderful years of Kuska School!

Thanks to our collective efforts, we enjoyed a day filled with delicious food, games, and activities that reminded us of the power of unity in our community.

 2.- LET´S EXPLORE OUR CULTURE!

Our 1st and 2nd-grade explorers had the honor of visiting the community of Willoq in the Patacancha valley. This Quechua community, proud of its Inca heritage, warmly shared its ancestral traditions with our students. Through this experience, the children not only explored iconic places and engaged with the locals, but also learned the importance of respecting and valuing such a rich culture.

3.- POWERFUL CONNECTIONS AND COLLECTIVE ACTIONS: GATHERING OF THE WOMEN'S WEAVING COMMUNITY AND KUSKA SCHOOL

Have you reflected on your relationships with others in your community to identify ways to foster collective action?

This was the focus of a recent gathering where the Tejidos Femeninos community from the Teach For All network shared an assertive communication strategy with teachers and mothers from Kuska School. The strategy encouraged participants to engage from a place of empathy and understanding, aiming to interpret others' perspectives without judgment and to build a sense of community dedicated to the common good. "

4.- WHERE DO STORIES COME FROM?

In the first week of October, the kindergarden students at Kuska School impressed their families with a special presentation showcasing their learning from this term. They explored a creative project inspired by the question: "Where do stories come from?"

Driven by this curiosity, the children delved into the world of oral storytelling, discovering local tales and creating their own.

During the project, they learned about the main parts of a story and the various ways to tell them, demonstrating great creativity and imagination.

5.-  A WALK AROUND CASA KUSKA

During September and October, Casa Kuska continued to be a place of learning and fun for children. In addition to helping them with their homework, we organized movie afternoons every Friday with educational films and interactive activities on iPads. This way, the kids learn, have fun, and discover new worlds!
