Dear friends and supporters,
Greetings from Alliance Anti Trafic.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to your continued support on our Build Brighter Future Project: Education for 50 Lao Girls that we run. So far, your support has helped create meaningful changes in many girls'lives and this has allowed them to continue their education, strengthen skills, and build their safer and more independent futures.
Over the first four months of 2026, we have continued supporting Lao girls who face barriers to education due to poverty, sexual exploitation, and unstable living situations. Many Lao girls supported through this project had previously dropped out of school after experiencing difficult circumstances, including sexual exploitation and economic hardship.
Until now, a total of 17 Lao girls have been supported through scholarships, food allowances, as well as vocational and employment support from Alliance Anti Trafic (AAT). Among them, 10 girls aged 14 to 17 years old from both middle and high school levels received scholarships that enabled them to return to their education and work toward safer and more stable futures, while also helping reduce financial pressure on their families.
Likewise, three Lao girls, namely, Mary, Ying, and Mala** have continued to receive ongoing support from AAT as they pursue their higher education in universities. Mary, who has been connected with us since 2017, is currently in her third year studying Chemistry at the national university in Laos. Meanwhile, Ying and Mala have recently begun their first-year studies in Accounting and Korean Language.
With continued support, the girls are able to focus on their education while building knowledge, skillsets, confidence, and greater stability for their future.
During this period, four Lao girls were supported in accessing employment opportunities after they decided not to continue their education. Through AAT’s job-readiness and mentoring support, the girls were able to strengthen their confidence, practical skills, and independence as they transitioned into employment. This included our assistance in identifying safer employment, preparing for new workplace environments, strengthening social and communication skills, and practical support during the girls’ transitions to new roles and responsibilities. In addition, our team provided guidance on coping skills and navigating workplace pressures, as entering employment and adapting to new environments can be a new experience for many of the girls. In some cases, AAT also supported accommodation during their transition into new employment.
These achievements reflect not only the girls’ strength and determination, but also the continued support and belief you have shown in their potential and future. We, AAT, are grateful to continue witnessing more girls access education, build strengths, and move toward safer and more stable futures on their own paths.
Thank you for continuing to help create meaningful opportunities, positive change, and hope for the girls in our project.
With gratitude,
The AAT Team
