KEMBALI Program Update April 2025

It is a pleasure to e-meet you again in this project report.

YKIP started our activities in 2025 by visiting 342 students and distributing the school supplies for the students in KEMBALI Scholarship Program. below are the supplies that we distributed to the students:

writing books: 20
pen: 12
pencil: 4
eraser: 2
Ruler: 1
Sock : 2 pairs

Besides the supplies, YKIP also went to schools to pay for the students' tuition. Besides the school supplies distribution and school fees payment, YKIP also collected a copy of the students' report cards to asses their marks. Those who failed to have the average marks of 7 will be given another chance to improve their marks in the next semester. However, if they failed for two semesters in a row, YKIP will reconsider the scholarship. Usually, we will have further discussion with the student and the parents, and followed by a meeting with all staff. The meeting will conclude if the students' scholarship have to be revoked and transferred to other students.

Another activity done by YKIP field officers is second-phase surveys. These surveys aim to assess the students' current condition, especially their socio-economic situation. The survey result will determine whether there are significant improvements in the students' economic condition. When the result shows that the students are no longer eligible for the scholarship, YKIP will reconsider the scholarship and transfer the scholarship to other students who need more assistance. For this academic year, YKIP conducted 29 second phase surveys to the students in grade 8.

KEMBALI Program Update December 2024

Dear Friends,

May this email find you well.

In a few days, we will welcome the new year 2025. Before we move to the new year, we would like to send you an update on our KEMBALI Scholarship program.

YKIP successfully held the scholarship distribution to 346 students in the program. We visited the children in six program areas. The scholarship distribution took place from mid-October to the second week of November. During the meeting with the students, YKIP not only distributed the transport allowances to the students but also rewarded the students with outstanding performances both academically and non-academic. In total, there are 34 students rewarded for their hard work in the previous academic year.

In addition to the distribution, YKIP managed to organize two workshops for the students in the KEMBALI Scholarship program. In the first workshop, YKIP collaborated with KISARA PKBI Provinsi Bali to share about reproductive health with the students in Pengotan Village, Bangli Regency. The second workshop was a digital literacy workshop focusing on safeguarding students from cybercrime, especially online sexual exploitation. You can see the complete report on the workshop here.

During the distribution, we also collected the students' letters. We bring you one of the student's stories:

Dear donor,

May this letter find you well. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Cantika and I am in grade 12. I got a sponsorship from Riot Games, through the partnership with GlobalGiving. I am happy to get this sponsorship because it is allow me to studying without worrying about the school fees that burden my parents.

I was the second-best in my class when I was in grade 11. Besides learning at school, I like doing arts. I like drawing, singing, and playing traditional musical instruments. I learned to play a musical instrument called Rindik, and now I can play several traditional songs using the Rindik.

Last semester, I entered a singing competition at school. I hesitated at first, but my friends encouraged me to compete. I was really nervous but I managed to finish my song. To my surprise, I become a runner up. I was really happy and grateful.

After finishing high school, I would like to continue my education at university. I have always been fascinated by my teachers. The way they explain and teach their students inspires me to be a teacher in the future. I hope i could enter university and get a scholarship to make my dreams come true.

Thank you so much for supporting my education in senior high school and taking me a step closer to reaching my dream. Please wish me luck.

New Academic Year School Supplies Distribution

Dear friends,

We are thrilled to e-meet you again in KEMBALI Scholarship Program project report.

First, we would like to thank you for your continuous support of our KEMBALI Scholarship Program. Your contribution to this program enabled us to continue this program in the academic year of 2024-2025 which started in July 2024. In this new academic year, YKIP supported 346 students in KEMBALI Scholarship Program.

As our usual activities in the new academic year, YKIP distributed the school supplies as well as allowances for the students. Starting in the second week of August, we went to Denpasar, Badung, Karangasem, Pengotan, Tejakula, and seven districts in Gianyar.

The shool supplies distributed consist of writing books, pencils, pens, rulers, and correction pens. We also give distributed two pairs of socks and a pair of shoes to the students. For those who are just admitted to the scholarship program, we also distributed the school bags. For the students who started their studies in new level, YKIP distributed Indonesian dictionaries for junior high school students, and Indonesian-English Dictionaries for Senior High School students.

After the school supplies distribution finished, YKIP then proceed to pay the school fees. YKIP staff went to the school directly to pay the fee. We need a week to finish the school fee payment for the 346 students.

Lastly, we would like to thank all supporters for making this possible. Our donors like you who donate through GlobalGiving, corporate partners, local partners and last but not least, our volunteer who help us to run the distribution events. Without your supports, YKIP would not be able to have the students supported for this academic year and more years in the future.
