International Women’s Month: Celebrating 138 Female Educators Driving Change
Coromoto 2020 was founded with a clear mission to support underserved individuals and families in Venezuela, alongside Venezuelan migrants in the U.S. Through our work, we are dedicated to fostering resilience, knowledge and opportunities that create sustainable development within these communities.
Recognising the urgent need to strengthen Venezuela's education system - which has deteriorated due to the economic and social situation, and particularly in light of the increased challenges brought by COVID-19 - Coromoto 2020 officially launched its Educational Programme in 2024. The journey of this programme began with an in-depth diagnostic pilot, which revealed significant gaps affecting the country's development. With these insights, we were able to design a “Pedagogical Learning Mediation” training programme to address Venezuela’s educational needs and empower teachers with the necessary tools to cultivate independent, inclusive and dynamic learning environments.
During 2024/25 a total of 144 participants graduated from the programme, 138 of whom were WOMEN. These women are the true strength driving development within Venezuela. By empowering them, we are not only creating opportunities for their personal growth, but also preparing them to play an important role in improving the future of Venezuela’s education system.
Women are the heart of this transformation and through our programme, the impact resonates beyond individual classrooms. These women are actively contributing to the larger social path of Venezuela and are shaping the next generation of leaders and change-makers.

With education in Venezuela severely neglected - where 38 % of qualified teachers have left the classroom - this programme is more important than ever, with WOMEN leading the way toward progress.
As a donor, your support empowers their leadership and helps provide children, schools and communities with resources they need to build a better future for Venezuela. Thank you for standing with them.
