This project will focus on empowering and building the capacity of rural community inhabitants which include, women, youth, less fortunate individuals and vulnerable community dwellers. The Skills Training for Economic Empowerment will work in collaboration with community leaders, stakeholders and other civil society organizations to select targeted beneficiaries in fifty (50) communities. Quality and relevant vocational education and training, or VET, can provide people, especially to youth.
Lack of Vocational & technical education has the devastating potential to create a severe economic impacts. Young people have straggled with life and they need a hand that can support them through Vocational & technical education that can equip them with constructive Knowledge and reliable Skills.In Liberia, youths contribute 50% to the economy of the country.They are being denied even the most basic, most practical vocational education and their chances of ever finding a paid job are very slim.
The project is aiming at addressing youth sustainable skills and empowerment which are aimed at enabling them to access basic reliable skills through training workshops, counselling and promote positive behaviors. Currently, young people country-wide are so vulnerable to many dangers in the country due to a double influence as regards to political and poverty.
