Dear Donors and Well Wishers,
Greetings from BPA India.
I trust this report finds you in Great Spirit and Health.
I am very happy to share a story of Anjali a syndrome cute girl. She lives with her parents in a small town in Gujarat. Her father is a worker in the factory, and her mother is a homemaker. Due to Covid 19 effects on the job, her father had a difficult time. She was not able to meet the medical expenses of Anjali. Her behavior was changed a lot, she got angry quickly, sometimes broken things down. Her mother told this to the teacher, the teacher asked her that she could arrange virtual training as the school was closed. Having only one phone in the house made it difficult to give regular training to her on a virtual platform. A smartphone was given for the purpose of education under this project. Her teachers started making a video call, she was so happy to see her teacher's face after a long time. She cried, and asking her teacher to come home, and meet her. The virtual training was so helpful to manage her behavior and teaching purposes. She always asked when the school would be opening. The virtual training was very helpful to the students with disabilities for social adjustment, functional learning.
We are very happy to share with you that we have provided smart phones to 280 students with disabilities to access the education on virtual modes. We have also created small videos on functional training, activity of daily living skills, basic therapies, and functional literacy. The two special pages were created on facebook to provide resources to the parents, teachers that is helpful in dealing with children with disabilities in this difficult time. The links are given below.
We have reopened our rehablitaiton and therapy centers for children with disabilities as per the Government Norms, the Std 10th to 12th Classes have been restarted, and planning to reopened primary schools std 6th to 8th from 22nd February.
We are very happy to share with you that because of your continuous support, we have not deducted a salary of any teachers during and after the lockdown, and no staff have been reduced. They have been involved in relief work like distributing dry ration kits to the poor students.
We request you to provide your support, and also motivate your friends and family members to join this cause.
Thanking you
