Breaking Barriers: Providing Educational Support to Underprivileged Girl Children with SERUDS

Respected Donor,

Warm greetings from SERUDS!

We are immensely grateful for your generous support, which enables us to uplift underprivileged girl children by providing them with the essential educational resources they need to pursue their dreams.

The girl children we support come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Their parents often work as daily wage laborers in challenging and hazardous jobs such as construction work, tobacco (beedi) production, scavenging, and market yard tasks. Despite their relentless efforts, the income they earn is barely sufficient to sustain their families. Many of these girls face additional challenges at home—some fathers struggle with alcohol addiction, and some children are raised by a single parent due to various unfortunate circumstances.

The financial strain on these families often leaves them unable to afford educational materials for their children. In many cases, parents are forced to pull their daughters out of school and send them to work as domestic help in landlords' homes to supplement the family income. This situation robs these girls of their right to education and a brighter future.

In this critical situation, SERUDS has stepped in to support girl children aged 10 to 15 years by identifying their educational needs through discussions with headmasters and class teachers. We provide them with comprehensive educational material kits, ensuring that they have the resources necessary to succeed in their studies.

Each kit contains items such as school backpacks, long notebooks, geometry boxes, rulers, colored pencils, pens, sketches, erasers, uniforms, shoes, socks, and short notebooks. Through our regular program, we distribute these kits to 20 girl students studying in grades VII to X at IGMM School, A. Camp, Kurnool. These resources not only equip the girls for their studies but also instill confidence and a sense of empowerment, enabling them to continue their education without hindrance.

Your contributions through the esteemed organization GlobalGiving have played a pivotal role in making this possible. On behalf of these young girls and their families, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your support. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for these deserving children and giving them the opportunity to rise above their circumstances.

Thank you for being a part of this noble cause and for helping us make a difference in the lives of deprived girl children.
