Education Support for Underprivileged Children

We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continuous support toward the education of underprivileged girl children, made possible through the esteemed organization GlobalGiving.

Through careful assessments conducted by our dedicated volunteers, staff, and the school academic progress committee, we have identified promising girl students from low-income families who attend Indira Gandhi Memorial Municipal High School in A. Camp, Kurnool. These girls, who are in grades VII to X and range in age from 13 to 16 years, demonstrate both academic promise and active involvement in sports and extracurricular activities.

The families of these girls often face significant financial hardships, with parents working as daily-wage laborers in markets, construction sites, small shops, and nearby hotels. At times, these parents must migrate to other cities or towns for work, leaving their children in less-than-ideal living conditions, such as poorly maintained hostels. Observing these challenges, SERUDS has continuously provided educational support to help these girls succeed and stay in school.

Each year, we distribute Educational Material Kits tailored to support their academic journey. These kits include essential items such as two high-quality uniforms, shoes, socks, dictionaries, notebooks (both long and short), sharpeners, erasers, pens, pencils, geometry boxes, rulers, and school bags. This timely support enables the girls to attend school regularly, helping them make steady progress in their studies and perform well in their exams. We also motivate school dropout girls by providing these kits, encouraging them to resume their education.

It is with great happiness and gratitude that we share our partnership with GlobalGiving, a renowned nonprofit foundation. This collaboration strengthens our mission to uplift underserved communities and work closely with them to make a meaningful difference at the grassroots level. Our primary focus is to provide quality education for girl students from families living below the poverty line (BPL). We believe that empowering girls through education can help them achieve self-reliance and shape a promising future. To further this cause, we conduct motivational sessions to highlight the importance of education for these bright yet economically disadvantaged girls, encouraging them to stay committed to their learning journey. We firmly believe that by providing these young girls with timely educational resources, we enable them to pave their own way forward, reducing their dependence on others once they complete their education. In our view, education itself is the greatest asset one can offer to a child—it holds the power to change lives and build better futures.

Our team works closely with schools, teachers, and community leaders to identify girl students who face financial hardships, maintain regular attendance, and perform well academically. Based on the economic status of each girl, her dedication to studies, and her overall potential, we carefully select those in need and provide them with educational materials to support their journey. It is with deep respect and gratitude that we recognize your invaluable online donations, which allow us to sponsor the education of these deserving students. By staying in touch with both students and educators, we’re able to respond to their educational needs in a timely manner, providing essential materials and reducing dropout rates. Many of these girls come from families headed by single parents or widowed mothers, and without this support, they would likely be sent to work as domestic helpers or in tobacco-making establishments to supplement family income.

Through your contributions, we have been able to sponsor necessary school supplies for 100 girls in Grades VII to IX, including notebooks, pens, writing pads, sketch pens, pencils, erasers, school bags, uniforms, shoes, and socks. Thanks to your generosity, these students are more engaged, motivated, and grateful than ever. Their teachers, too, are delighted and are actively encouraging them to pursue their studies for a brighter future. School attendance has increased, and the girls are now more focused on their education, inspired by the knowledge that someone believes in their potential. We are deeply grateful for your sponsorship, which provides these girls with the educational tools they need to succeed.
