Financial & Campaign Status
Dear GlobalGiving Community,
Thank you for standing with families who have been forced to flee conflict and rebuild life from nothing. In Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement, Uganda, Sudanese refugee women and children are facing escalating hunger, worsening water shortages, and unsafe living conditions as humanitarian funding declines and assistance is cut.
Through American Aid (A A Relief), we are launching an urgent emergency response to help the most vulnerable households—especially women-led families, young children, the elderly, and people with disabilities—survive this crisis with dignity.
Progress Update (This Quarter)
While this project is still in the earliest stage of fundraising, we used this quarter to strengthen operational readiness so we can begin distributions quickly as support grows. Key progress included:
Aligning with trusted local partners and community leadership to prioritize women-led households and high-risk cases.
Preparing a practical, life-preserving package focused on staple foods, safe water support, mattresses for safe sleeping, and essential clothing for women and children.
Establishing on-the-ground monitoring processes to verify recipients, document delivery, and share transparent updates with donors.
Community Need & Why This Project Matters
The situation in Kiryandongo is urgent and worsening:
Many refugees arrive after fleeing conflict with no bedding, no clothing, and no reliable resources.
Our work is rooted in dignity and protection. These families are not numbers—they are mothers trying to keep children alive, warm, and safe under extreme pressure.
Program Model (What Funding Will Deliver)
Once funded, American Aid (A A Relief) will deliver urgent emergency relief through local partners and verified community channels, including:
Distributions will prioritize women-led families and the most vulnerable households. Our team will oversee verification, distribution, and documentation to ensure accountability.
