Dear donor,
Fazendo Historia supports a group of 35 young adults, transiting from a shelter home into the real world when they turn 18 years old. Since last year, the pandemic imposed additional challenges to our program, when many teenagers lost their jobs and and had no money to buy food. We have all been facing tough moments in Brazil, with Covid intensity our economy is also struggling. Over 14 million people are unemployed, worse levels in the last 10 years.
With your kindness donations, our project was able to offer food for 17 and internet for 15 young adults in the last months. Internet is key to keep them connect to continue job hunting efforts and learning online. We had to select a smaller group to support based on the assessment of the need and urgency of each case. We also have been able to continue supporting the entire group offering virtual meetings, guiding them thru this moment of life, keeping strong and continue fighting to implement their life projects, especially with regard to housing and work.
Today we have a great story to share, and maybe you will feel motivated to continue supporting this cause, together we can make a better world! N. turned 18, left the shelter and went to live in a youth co-op. It was a very challenging moment for N, because in addition to leave behind the people he lived with for years, he needed to remain in isolation due to the pandemic. His employment contract as a Young Apprentice ended shortly before he left the shelter and since them he has been trying to find a job. Despite all changes and difficulties, with the support of the project he has been able to manage his personal finance properly, engage in a technical education course online and is currently looking for work and adapting to his new home.
Kind regards, and thank you again for your support
