WOMEN LEADING COMMUNITY EBOLA PREVENTION EFFORTS

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Women continue to play a vital role in strengthening Ebola prevention efforts across communities. Thanks to your support, women leaders and community volunteers have been actively engaged in spreading lifesaving health information and promoting preventive behaviors.

Throughout this reporting period, women participated in awareness campaigns, household visits, and community dialogue sessions. Their trusted positions within families and communities allow them to effectively communicate important health messages and encourage positive behavioral changes.

Many women volunteers have helped identify vulnerable households requiring additional support and have connected families with healthcare services when needed. Their dedication has contributed significantly to improved community awareness and preparedness.

Training sessions focused on Ebola prevention, hygiene promotion, and community engagement have further strengthened their capacity to serve as health advocates. These women are now acting as role models, encouraging regular handwashing, early symptom reporting, and adherence to public health guidelines.

The involvement of women has also fostered stronger community participation and trust in prevention activities. Their leadership demonstrates the importance of inclusive approaches in responding to public health challenges.

Thank you for supporting initiatives that empower women to protect their communities. Your generosity is helping strengthen local leadership while advancing critical Ebola prevention efforts. Together, we are creating healthier and more resilient communities across Uganda.
