Celebrating 15 Years of Saving Pets

By Genevieve Frederick | Founder/President

Happy Birthday, Feeding Pets of the Homeless family!

I am honored to celebrate 15 years of helping pets with you.

At the heart of our success lies your generosity and compassion. Your support and partnership have been instrumental in shaping Feeding Pets of the Homeless into what it is today.

Since 2008, we have helped over 30,000 pets receive medical treatment, helped distribute over 2 million pounds of pet food and spent over $3.8 million in veterinary care, crates and support for pets belonging to people experiencing homelessness.

We are grateful beyond words for your contributions, big and small, that have allowed us to make a meaningful impact in the lives of these pets across the United States and Canada.

As we reflect on our impacts, we are filled with optimism and excitement for the future. With your continued partnership and your collective efforts, we are confident that the next 15 years will have a bigger impact on pets as more folks find their way to reach us.

We know that these pets save human lives.

This work gives hope to people experiencing homelessness and empowers them to move forward. Our mission is to keep the bellies of pets full and to prevent pain from injuries or illness. Sasha is just one example of the many pets we help every day. I will let them tell their story.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My name is Sasha. I am a 13-year-old Rat Terrier living in Las Vegas, NV with my loving owner. We have been homeless for the past 3 years and currently stay in his vehicle. He is disabled and receives SSI and food stamps but the food stamps don't cover pet food so he shares his food with me.

My owner noticed I was acting funny. He thought I had something in my throat because I was jerking my head and eating lots of grass.

He knew about Feeding Pets of the Homeless and called them for help. A compassionate case manager helped us get an appointment at a partner veterinary clinic nearby.

They completed an exam and determined I had pancreatitis and would need to be hospitalized with medication.

I am now on my way to recovery with the treatment Feeding Pets of the Homeless approved. They contributed $604 towards my care.

Thanks to donors like you we are able to help pets like Sasha every day. Thank you for 15 years and we are looking forward to the next 15 years with you!
