Project Summary
This project aims to train and equip 20 young journalists in Goma, Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), to effectively combat misinformation. Through comprehensive training, access to professional reporting tools, and the creation of a Web Radio/TV production studio, these journalists will be empowered to produce and share accurate, real-time information. In a region affected by conflict and flooded with fake news, this initiative seeks to restore public trust in the media.
Project Objectives
Humanitarian Context
Eastern DRC, especially Goma, has long been affected by conflict, creating fertile ground for the spread of fake news. False information fuels community tensions, hinders peace efforts, and erodes public trust.
Young people, though eager to contribute to change, often lack the resources and skills to take action against disinformation.
