Giving Survivors Skills to Rebuild Lives

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for your support of Empower 90 Survivors of Sex Trafficking in Nigeria by Equitable Medicaid and Clinical Research. Your generosity gives hope to women and girls who have survived unimaginable exploitation and are seeking a chance to rebuild their lives.

Nigeria remains a major source country for human trafficking, with thousands of women and girls exploited every year. Survivors often face trauma, stigma, and a lack of financial or vocational resources, leaving them vulnerable to re-exploitation. Many cannot access education or employable skills, making it extremely difficult to achieve independence and stability without practical support.

While your donation is invaluable, it is not yet enough to fully implement the project. Additional contributions are urgently needed to train 90 survivors in tailoring, provide transport stipends to attend training, supply sewing machines upon graduation, and cover shop rent for their new businesses. These resources will help survivors generate income, regain dignity, and build stable lives free from exploitation.

The long-term impact of this project is profound. Graduates will run their own tailoring businesses, reducing financial dependence and vulnerability. They will serve as role models in their communities, demonstrating that recovery and independence are possible after exploitation. With secure livelihoods, survivors can support their families, educate their children, and break cycles of poverty. By empowering survivors, the project contributes to safer, stronger communities and helps prevent future trafficking.

We appeal to all supporters to continue giving generously. Every donation help transforms the lives of these courageous women and girls, helping them step into independence with confidence and hope.

With thanks,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
