Girls Still Lack Safe Income Options

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for your interest in the Empower a Girl for Self-Reliance to End Poverty project. At this time, no donations have been received, so the planned training and support for girls have not yet begun.

Across several states in Nigeria, many girls continue to face difficult choices due to poverty and lack of skills. Without safe ways to earn income, some are drawn into harmful situations that affect their health, safety, and future.

Limited access to training and start-up support keeps many girls from learning trades that could help them stand on their own. This affects their confidence, daily living, and ability to support themselves.

This project is designed to train 3,000 girls in practical skills such as tailoring, soap making, sanitary pad production, baking, catering, and fashion design. Each participant will also receive basic support to begin a small business after training.

With these skills, girls can earn income in a safer way, support their needs, and build more stable lives within their communities.

We appreciate your time in learning about this effort and remain hopeful that support will come so this program can begin and reach the girls who need it most.

Sincerely,

Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
