The professionals who work in institutions for the protection of rights, have a preponderant role in promoting the rights of girls.
The responsibility to guarantee the exercise of their rights falls on several actors: the family, the school, the community and the State, but it is the latter that has the main responsibility if any of the other actors fails to fulfill its duty.
But the mere knowledge of the rights is insufficient to guarantee their effective validity and transform the reality in which millions of girls live in Ecuador. Promotion needs to be complemented by the protection of rights. For this reason, Idea Dignidad continues to provide psychoeducational and legal therapeutic support to girls who have experienced violence, especially sexual violence, as well as to their mothers so that they can provide more effective accompaniment and care.
To improve our capacity for professional support, the professionals at Idea Dignidad constantly train and update our Service Model. Only in this way, we increase our capacities to offer better information and advice. Thus, in the month of February 2022, we held an institutional strengthening workshop and continued disseminating key information on rights.
