Educational Activities from the SEA

By Angela D. Coleman | President

Sisterhood Agenda's global empowerment activities will be implemented at the SEA:  Sisterhood Empowerment Academy.  We are currently building this unique eco-friendly space.  Online activities will also be shared via the SEA.

With our contractor and team members all together and ready to begin, Sisterhood Agenda is in construction mode as we began Phase II of our Sisterhood Empowerment Academy (SEA) building. Marking our expansion plan in orange spray paint-again!

We are so excited as we ordered some of our building materials and gathered reused items from other local building projects and brought them to our property to start the tasks at hand. Thank you to Dave Carlson from Dave Carlson Construction for donating windows and doors from one of his renovation projects!

Phase II includes the following steps:

First:  the foundation, including concrete footings, pillars, hurricane brackets, and plywood flooring.

Second:  the walls, patio doors, and windows.

Third:  the roof, including hurricane brackets, rooftop deck, and covered porch areas.

After Phase II, we will begin the interior process to construct the following:  kitchen, bathrooms, storage.  This is Phase III, our final construction phase, before beginning the exterior hardscaping and landscaping.

Not only are we moving forward with the construction of the green building... Sisterhood Agenda is also excited about making progress on newly planned initiatives for the SEA, training for SEA staff, and the new SEA website, coming soon!

We are thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful project that unites a wonderful team of individuals who may have never met or worked together.  Men, women and girls of all ethnicities and backgrounds are coming together for the SEA.
