Progress Report: December 2008

By Angela D. Coleman | Look at Our Progress!

Sisterhood Agenda’s Sisterhood Empowerment Project is progressing well. Currently, Sisterhood Agenda has over 1,000 Global Partners in more than 30 countries. Sisterhood Agenda has been able to successfully raise over $20,000 for the Sisterhood Empowerment Project. New sites for project implementation include geographical areas in Texas, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Minneapolis, Indiana, South Carolina, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. New international sites include Honduras, St. Croix, Uganda, and London. Cultural exchanges are scheduled in 2009 for expansion into Central, South and Latin American territories.

Several new grant proposals have been submitted and individual donations have been received. Sisterhood Agenda would like to thank everyone for their support. With grant support from YouTube, Sisterhood Agenda released its first multi-media online version of Sisterhood Agenda Magazine in October 2008. New, participatory, alternative media is coming in 2009!

Sisterhood Agenda has created and updated its integrated websites to include friends, supporters, and contacts on: myspace, facebook, twitter, flickr, Just Means, YouTube, and its own site, www.sisterhoodagenda.com.

The new 2008-2009 public relations campaign focuses on Sisterhood Agenda as a grassroots movement for positive social change and collaboration is built into the model. You don’t have to be a woman or girl of African descent to put Sisterhood on your Agenda: there are many ways to get involved!
