My journey as a field traveler in South America has just ended and I cannot be more thankful for the opportunity every donor has given me and our GlobalGiving partners, to be able to visit them and better help them. I´ll tell you a bit about Colombia and Peru and my time there.

I started my journey in Colombia and traveled north from Bogotá to Medellin, then to Urabá region to visit which was a great site visit... I then spent some weeks in Barranquilla, Cartagena, Santa Marta and Minca. Thanks to your donations, we had a total of 3 crowdfunding workshops for our current partners and we had some meetings and workshops with potential partners. In total we had around 30 site visits adn spent time with every one of our partners to ensure we provide them with feedback regarding their projects and also help them improve their overall presence on the platform.

Some of my site visits where to these projects:

-Fundacion Projeter Sans Frontieres Proyectar Sin Fronteras, Fundación Proyectar Sin Fronteras

-330 Kids Reach Nutrition and Development in Bogota, Fundación Amiguitos Royal

-Estufas for Displaced families, Grupo Aleimar Onlus

- Equip Classrooms for School Children in Colombia, Conviventia

-Give at-risk Colombian children a safe home, Fundación Niños de los Andes

-Soccer and school for 1500 Colombian kids at risk, Fundación Tiempo de Juego

-GIVE A HOME TO STREET CHILDREN IN COLOMBIA, Fundación Dones de Misericordia

-Micro-credits for Baru Island entrepreneurs, Fundación Hernán Echeverría Olozaga

-Hospital Classroom for 10.000 children in Medellin, Children Hospital of San Vicente Foundation

-Give A New Smile to 20 Children in Uraba, Colombia, Fundauniban

I then traveled from Colombia to Peru through the amazon and took a slow boat from Leticia, Colombia, to Pebas, Peru, overnight and spent a few days with Center for Amazon Community Ecology Center. Then took another boat to Iquitos, and after a few days made my way down to Lima. Overall, Peru was an amazing experience. Our partners are addressing problems anywhere from climate change, supporting and recovering rainforests in multiple parts of the Amazonian jungle (Pucallpa, Iquitos, Tampobata region), empowering artisans and promoting fair trade, taking medicinal brigades to the poorest and furthest areas. I´ll share with you a few images of my trip!
