The project will help 200 children living on an isolated, disaster-prone island, to begin their education journey. It aims to empower these children to take charge of their own lives and ensure that no child is left behind. The project will cover all essential needs such as uniforms, shoes, meals, school supplies & basic facilities. Our aim is that each child from this island has access to the tools and resources necessary for their education. With only $19, you can ensure a child's education.
Education isn't given importance due to the age-old belief system. The children are forced to enter child labour/ marriage due to extreme poverty. Until 2 years ago, there wasn't any school on the island. Children had to travel 5 km to reach schools on the mainland. This makes it hard for children to get the education they need. Inaccessibility & availability of necessary resources along with poverty, has kept these children away from the light of education.
Obhizatrik established the first school in the region. Funds will allow us to ensure full free quality education for all children. Poverty will no longer create a barrier. Every facility that is a child's basic human right will be accessible. It will allow the community to understand the importance of education. It will also ensure no child is put in the hands of child labor or early marriages.
Education is a pathway to escape poverty and hunger, giving children better prospects in all social and cultural aspects. As a child embraces education, he/she will be creating positive change, leading to an improved quality of life. The community, being aware of the importance of education, will become active participants in shaping their own futures. This will enable them to achieve new opportunities & create a brighter future.
