We extend our sincere gratitude to all supporters of the "Empower Health of 50 Nicaraguan Women" project. Your generosity and commitment are vital to our ongoing efforts to improve the health and well-being of women in La Salvia. This report highlights our activities in May, June, and July, sharing inspiring stories and updates on our work in this remote community.
Clinic Activities and Impact: Throughout these months, our Health & Help clinic has continued its dedicated service in La Salvia and surrounding areas, providing essential healthcare despite the challenging rainy season conditions that make travel to the regional hospital nearly impossible.
The Story of Doña Rosa: We want to share the inspiring story of Doña Rosa, a courageous woman who faces many hardships but remains committed to her health. Residing in El Rosario, a remote part of the community, Rosa's resilience is remarkable. She suffers from multiple diagnoses, including Type 2 Diabetes, chronic hypertension, and has had a stroke (CVA) resulting in right-sided hemiplegia, severely limiting her mobility.
Care and Follow-up at Our Clinic:
Recent Progress: Thanks to a generous donor in June, Rosa received a wheelchair—a small but transformative gift that significantly improved her mobility and independence.
Challenges and Community Efforts: Rosa and other women in La Salvia face obstacles such as limited access to advanced treatments and transportation, especially during the rainy season. However, her persistent effort and our clinic’s personalized support are making meaningful differences in their lives.
Next Steps: Our team will continue regular follow-ups with Rosa and other patients, organizing outreach events and periodic visits to ensure continuous, comprehensive care. We remain committed to providing personalized and quality healthcare for all women in the community.
Acknowledgments: We are deeply grateful to our dedicated volunteers, whose tireless work makes stories like Rosa’s possible. Your support sustains our mission and brings hope to countless women like her.
Conclusion: With your continued assistance, we will keep empowering women in La Salvia, improving their health, enabling them to pursue their dreams, and strengthening their communities. Every step forward—like providing a wheelchair—reminds us that small victories have profound impacts.
