Empower artisans in marginalized areas of Kenya
Background
Action10 together with Human Rights & Science (HR&S) aim to raise funds to decrease poverty in the Kibera slum through increased employment and business activities. The Kibera slum in Kenya suffers from low employment and high poverty rate where the latter is as high as 50%. By supporting local business operations, we will contribute to an increased standard of living in the area.
Project updates
HR&S Branch Kenya is attending and being active in the bi-monthly online meetings, where they can discuss their successes and challenges with HR&S's network, as well as to connect with Action10 volunteers, other HR&S African branches, and RISE members. During those meetings, branch members share knowledge and experiences and gain from them as well. The Management Strategy for Change ROPE (Real-time Outcome Planning & Evaluation) serves as the foundation for both sessions. For the purpose of online business marketing of Dolas Creation project, Mr. Ating'A is currently searching for technical support. In order to share information and connect all branches, branch members can now access and use the recently introduced platform during bi-monthly meetings.
