In Mujeres 2000, through the microloan program, we provide loans and mentorship to women living in poverty so that they can launch their own small business enterprises and generate extra household income. Our entrepreneurs live in communities with few formal work opportunities, and with additional income these women are better equipped to meet urgent needs such as providing themselves and their children with adequate meals, healthcare, education, and in turn, a more promising future.
Alicia has a business in wich she produces and sell women's underwear. Like many Argentine entrepreneurs, not having bank financing, she asked Mujeres 2000 for a microloan.
Her business has grown and now she also makes deliveries on demand. In order to maintain the same amount of production, at the beginning of the month she was granted credit of $55,000 argentinian pesos (205 USD) which she will allocate to the purchase of a new sewing machine.
Also, in April and May we trained 20 women with tools to improve their ventures.
