Get To Know Tamara

By Adison York | Organization Volunteer

27-year-old Tamara is one of Mujeres2000's entrepreneurs in the Ricardo Rojas neighborhood of Zona Norte, Buenos Aires where she lives with her partner and 2 little kids. In 2021, after graduating from our Business Management course, she solicited her first microcredit and became a member of the Mujeres2000 community. Her small business is a nail salon run out of her home, where she offers extension, shelac, nail fortification and removal services. At the end of October she received her second microcredit of 30,000 pesos ($37.50 USD) to go toward the purchase of more supplies for the growth of her business.

For Tamara, her smal business is an opporuntiy for both personal growth and economic independence that women often lack access to. She also says that the microcredits have allowed her to find a balance between pursuing her paid work and passion, and maintaining consistency in her responsibilities as a mother and partner.

Additionally, in September, the whole Emprende team worked together to facilitate a market where entreprenauers could participate through selling their products and promoting their businesses. Each entreprenuer was given a booth to sell at, and the event was widely publicized so that people from all over greater Buenos Aires would come to support. It was a great success!

Thank you for being a part of our mission to create equal opportunities in local communities.

We continue to promote personal, community and global betterment!
