As the devastating humanitarian crisis in Sudan continues into its fourth year, women and girls bear the heaviest burden: extreme hunger, daily danger and unimaginable levels of violence.
Over the past year severe food insecurity has surged, and it is increasingly women who are missing meals so their children can eat what little is available. Now 75% of women-led households face extreme hunger, with these same households three times more likely to be food insecure than those led by men.
Conflict has displaced families, taken lives, and removed livelihoods. As men are killed, injured, or forced to flee, more households are headed by women, often with no stable income, limited access to land, and fewer resources.
Everyday tasks like fetching water, collecting firewood, and queuing for food now carry a threat to the safety of women. When women become more vulnerable, they are less able to care for their children.
Right now, our Kids for Kids volunteers are helping women every day. And you can too.
In a crisis where women and girls are most at risk, your support can make the greatest difference and help us provide more of the most basic essentials.
