Happy New Year! We are so glad to share some of our successes in the past few months with you, to help Mothers and their Daughters through a time of unimaginable hardship and famine. The ongoing conflict has pushed millions of Sudanese families into "world's worst hunger crisis", (The UN General Assembly, September 2024) with children facing the brunt of food shortages, lack of clean water, and medical supplies. Kids for Kids is working hard to help as many people as possible and our Kids Kitchen Kits - lentils, pulses, powdered meat, ground nuts - provide essential nutrition and protein. We are thrilled that a further 6,446 children aged 5 and under received our Kits just before Christmas.
In December we were also able to approve a project that gets aid to 35 IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) families who are residing in our village of Um Ga'al at the moment. We provided Donkeys, Mosquito Nets, Blankets, Kids Kitchen Kits and 20 Goats to these families who are facing exceptional hardship. We are so happy to be able to help give these IDP families a home at such a difficult time.
But there are so many more families in the 110 Kids for Kids villages that need food urgently. And it is so important to build up our donations to support women and girls, so that we can get essential items like Goats, Donkeys, Blankets, and Mosquito Nets to families as soon as they are available at market.
We hope you are able to share updates from Kids for Kids with your friends and family this new year, and help us raise awareness of the important work we are doing - helping families when no one else is. You are the reason we are able to reach more and more families with aid during the continuing violence.
