How to cook Amaranth!

By Monika Goforth | Guatemala Programs Director

Coop leader shows us where clean seeds escape!
Coop leader shows us where clean seeds escape!

You love natural, nutritious and sustainable food. You want to help more people create more of it.

So you financed our first amaranth winnower, helping 110 women farmers and their neighbours by WAY more efficient at processing this superfood.

We're just starting our second season with the amaranth winnower, getting it out to farmers in other villages for the benefit of all. We got some feedback for improvement after the first season, and were thrilled to see that they are only minor adjustments to reduce waste!

We'd REALLY like to make those minor changes in the first weeks of December, so we're going to rock this #GivingTuesday to fundraise $650 to have a local welder work with a local engineer to make this machine the best it can be!

Why #GivingTuesday? Because Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation are driving development forward with 50% Matching Funds, which means if you 33 amazing individual donors collectively chip-in $425.00, we've got it covered!!!

Just like that.  So mark your calendar for Tuesday, November 29, 2016.  Its the day to give gifts that keep on giving!

Thank you so much for supporting this project. We wish you many delicious meals and some very Happy Holidays!
