The Empowering Disadvantaged Women Vocational Training Project is very grateful for the support received from our donors. The Project is presently reaching out to economically disadvantage young women in Azope, a town located south of Ivory Coast. Twenty-five (25) ladies received basic training in Tie & Dye as well as Business Management to assist them with managing their own business after training. Most of these ladies are school drop-outs, who as a result of poverty have not been able to further their education.

Our presence in Azope has really been a blessing to the community especially to parents who have been looking for ways to assist their children acquire education. The training sparked new hope in them and motivated a desire to pursue their dreams.

As a result of their interests to further their education, we have selected fifteen (15) ladies who will receive further training in Tie & Die including creative ideas for home decorations. Starting in June 2014, the training is scheduled for a period of one year, with the goal of establishing them in their own business.

In collaboration with other organizations specialized in health counseling and HIV/AIDS, several health awareness campaigns were organized to educate the community especially young ladies on the danger of unprotected sex with emphasis on abstinence. Most ladies had the opportunity to be tested for HIV/AIDS.

The donations created the opportunity for us to touch their lives and make a difference in this impoverished town. We thank our sponsors for their generous support.
