Whoohoo #GivingTuesday is Tomorrow! Are you ready?

Wow, what an exciting time it is. We are on the verge of #GivingTuesday a day when over 70nations around the world push back from the materialism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, to give to non-profit organizations who are changing the world on your behalf. We are a grassroots organization that relies on individual donors like you, for the work that we cannot get formally funded through large corporations.

#GivingTuesday starts on 3rd December at 0001 Eastern Standard Time USA or

0900 Pretoria Time RSA or

1900 Adelaide Australia Time.

Check out where you live the correct time zone. #GivingTuesday lasts for 24hrs however dont fret if you miss the date and time because Global Giving will be operating an end of year campaign until the 31st of December!

At Keep The Dream196 we recognise that not everyone is able to come and see what is happening on the ground in Limpopo, the logistics and resources that are required far out way the financial means of many of our supporters. I know you would visit if you could and you would be most welcome if you would like to see the impact of our work first hand.

Your investment has yielded the following impact to date:

1. Reduced Teenage Pregnancy from 13% to 0.07% within KTD196. 12 girls in 16yrs have become pregnant instead of over 2,000 that would be statistically probable with out KTD196 interventions;

2. Reduced 70% of children involved in crime or victims of crime to 1 child involved in crime in over 14,000 children in 16yrs we have had one child arrested and was deemed incompetent to stand trial;

3. Reduce teenage suicide from 12.7% deaths to 0% in our program;

4. Increase matriculation pass rates from governments 62% to KTD196 pass rate of 90%

Are you aware that:

$4 enables one child to attend KTD196’s program for 1 month

$40 gives 2kgs worth of seeds for 25 children to build their own food gardens and develop their farming skills

$200 a month sponsors a group of 50 children attending the program for a month.

$270/month employs a Field Officer to visit the groups and implement the program in 23different groups per month including transport.

$1,500 enables us to take 50 scouts to camp for 5days and train them as HIV Peer Educators, First Aiders and Leadership Skills

We need to continue our services to the children of Limpopo Province. Please partner with us and help us expand our services to touch and change more lives during #GivingTuesday. It is only through your support that this impact is possible. We are changing lives, we are saving lives and we are giving life to hopeless, disenfranchised children that otherwise would become victims of poverty, drug and alcohol abuse, hopelessness and suicide.

On #GivingTuesday the more money we raise in comparison to our peers on GlobalGiving on the 3rd of December, Global Giving is giving $500K in matching funds, so as you donate we get a double share! Can you help us?

Season for Thanks Giving! Thanks to YOU!

Dear Friends and Partners of Keep The Dream196,

For 16years we have been working with the children of Greater Tzaneen and their caregivers. In that time, through the work we have implemented, we have prevented over 2,000 teenage pregnancies and unwanted children through our morals and values based program. We have assisted over 14,000 children to build their own future through active thinking and not just passively going along in life and doing what they see their peers doing ie drugs, alcohol or crime. (you can read their stories on our website under VOICE OF THE CHILD).

This is the season of THANKSGIVING and we are most THANKFUL for you! Because of you:

Teenage pregnancy in our program has declined from 13% provincially to 0.07% which we have maintained for 16yrs
Teenage crime from 70%of youth are victims or perpetrators to 1 child in over 14,000 in 16yrs of operation
90% matriculation pass rate increased from 72% through government schools (which all our children attend)
Successful suicide rate of 12.7% nationally where our suicide rate is 0.

These outcomes are phenomenal and it is because you, and people like you, enabling us to continue to do the work. Our successes are your successes. Together we have literally saved lives, we have stopped families from imploding, we, together have achieved this!

We are forever grateful for your support of the work that we are able to do in changing lives, communities and generations. It is sometimes hard to believe that we have been doing this work for over 16 years!!

Did you know $4 or R40 will keep one child in our program for 1month! For the price of a cup of coffee (in Australia), you can save a child from hopelessness, despair, suicide, poverty, teenage pregnancy and give them the support and skills they need to become active vital members of society with the abilities to become leaders of the future.

Together, hand in hand we are making futures available to thousands of desperate, directionless, hurting children!

THANK YOU! Words are not sufficient to be able to tell you the impact you are having on the lives of the children we serve.

We are only as successful as the funding we receive, without your support, in an ongoing manner; we are not able to reach the children as effectively or as many. We have identified new areas that are in desperate need of hope, help us be the answer for these children as well.

Thank you for your SUPPORT

Dear Friends and Partners of Keep The Dream196,

My heart filled with sincere gratitude, THANK YOU!

Your generous support means more than mere words can say. Because of your thoughtfulness and kind compassion, over 1,200 young children’s lives and that of their family, has been touched this week alone, by you!

If you can imagine, these young people are very open and candid about their day-to-day life and all of the influences that are trying to pull them into substance and alcohol abuse, crime and sexual activity. Peer pressure is an evil which is dragging children into Gangsterism and high risk behaviours which can and do have devastating effects. Many of the children this week said that what they have learned from Keep The Dream196, they know now they could make a better decision for themselves and their family.

I share this because we could not do this work without you and people like you. Thank you! Every day I am faced with bad stories from the children and the one bright part of their week is coming to Keep The Dream196. They feel safe, they feel happy, they feel normal. They can come and have fun, be kids, take a break from the pressures of everyday life. There is such urgency because there are so many children in need.

When you see a young person in this area of the world living their dream, please be encouraged to know that you have helped thousands of young people keep their dream of a life filled with hope, education, emotional and mental support and love.

My own children have overcome great obstacles through participating in KTD196 and are realising their dreams. One as a Social Worker and the other as a Chartered Accountant. Through KTD196. Both my children were part of the orginal 13girls Louise and I started with in 2003 and unlike their peers from that time, they are successful contributing citizens of South Africa.

That is what your support does, it helps the children stay on track for their dreams, and prevents them from getting side tracked by peers that are spiraling down hill.
