From Struggle to Success: Manju's Journey...
My name is Manju (Name Changed), and I live in a small village in Rajasthan with my husband and three children. My husband is a daily wage laborer, and his income is not sufficient to meet the needs of our family. We often struggled to make ends meet and had to cut corners wherever we could. One day, I learned about the Women Self Help Group of RSKS India that had been set up in our village. I was intrigued by the concept and decided to enroll myself in the group. The RSKS India team members were very helpful, and they provided us with a lot of guidance on various aspects of entrepreneurship.
With the help of the group, I applied for a low-interest loan and was able to start my own fruits and vegetables shop. The RSKS India team members provided me with guidance on setting up the shop and selecting the right kind of products to sell. They also taught me about various banking activities like opening a savings account and managing my finances. I was nervous at first, but with their guidance and support, I was able to set up my fruits and vegetable shop successfully. I focused on providing fresh and high-quality fruits and vegetables to my customers, and soon my shop became a popular destination in the village.
The income from the shop was a huge relief for our family. We no longer had to worry about making ends meet, and we were able to provide better food and education for our children. I was also able to save some money, which was a first for me. The RSKS India team members continued to guide me and teach me about various financial products and services. Today, I feel proud of what I have achieved. I am not only running a successful business but also contributing financially to my family. I have learned so much from the RSKS India team members, and I feel confident about managing my finances and growing my business further.
The Women Self Help Group of RSKS India has been a game-changer for me and many other women in our village. It has given us a platform to learn and grow, and the support and guidance provided by the team members have been invaluable. Looking back, I realize how far I have come. From struggling to make ends meet to running my own business, it has been a long and challenging journey. But with the support of RSKS India and my determination, I have been able to overcome all the obstacles and achieve my dreams.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan identified a crucial need for bolstering the confidence and leadership capabilities of its team members. Working tirelessly in the field of social development, the staff encountered diverse challenges, prompting a realization that fostering their personal and professional growth was imperative. Recognizing the significance of confidence and adept leadership in driving the success of RSKS India's community-centric initiatives, the organization strategized to tackle this issue head-on.
To confront this challenge, RSKS organized a comprehensive five day life skills and leadership session exclusively designed for its staff. The core principle underlying this initiative was the acknowledgment that well-prepared and confident team members constitute the bedrock of an organization, particularly one deeply involved in social welfare. This targeted session delved into the practical realms of leadership, effective communication strategies, problem-solving techniques, and efficient time management. It was meticulously crafted to be interactive, fostering an environment where staff could exchange experiences, learn from each other, and absorb essential skills. By investing in this training, RSKS sought to empower its team with the necessary tools to adeptly navigate challenges, thereby enhancing their overall effectiveness in advancing the organization's mission.
The impact of the life skills and leadership session proved to be transformational for both RSKS and its staff. The newfound confidence and determination exhibited by team members directly translated into enhanced efficiency and effectiveness in their work within the communities. Staff members showcased a noticeable shift in their approach, addressing challenges with the problem-solving prowess acquired during the session. Beyond mere project outcomes, the session fostered a more cohesive and empowered team dynamic. The positive transformations witnessed among staff members created an enriched work environment, ultimately fortifying RSKS India's capacity to generate a lasting and impactful difference in the lives of the communities it serves.

Threads of Women Empowerment on Wheel !!

We have been getting your valuable generous support and we are thankful to you from the core of our heart.
In many rural villages, young women and girls face significant challenges in accessing skill development opportunities, limiting their prospects for economic empowerment. Traditional gender roles often confine them to domestic responsibilities, leaving them with fewer chances to acquire vocational skills. This lack of training contributes to their economic dependence and restricts their ability to contribute meaningfully to their families and communities. Recognizing this problem, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan identified the need to create avenues for skill development, particularly in the context of the garment-making industry, which has the potential to offer sustainable livelihoods.
To address the problem, RSKS India implemented the Advanced Garments Making Vocational Education Program in a rural village. This initiative aimed to empower young women and girls by providing them with comprehensive training in sewing skills. The program ran for five hours daily, with 3.5 hours dedicated to practical sewing sessions and 1.5 hours for theoretical learning for 3 months. The curriculum covered a spectrum of topics, including stitching techniques, garment design, and theoretical aspects of the garment-making industry.
The impact of the Advanced Garments Making Vocational Education Program was profound, extending beyond individual participants to the community at large. More than 25 young women and girls who attended the program daily were not just learning to sew; they were acquiring a skill set that could potentially transform their lives. The theoretical learning component opened avenues for a deeper understanding of the garment-making industry, potentially enabling some participants to explore entrepreneurial ventures. As these young women and girls progressed through the program, the community witnessed a visible shift in their roles—from passive observers to active contributors with newfound skills. The impact was not just measured in the hours of training but in the newfound confidence, skills, and economic potential these young women and girls carried with them, symbolizing a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
