Empowering Women with Vocational Skills Report
By C. Christian Zarweah | Project Leader
The project aims to close the social, economic, and livelihood gaps between men and women in rural Liberia. Rural women and girls in post-war and post-pandemic Liberia face multiple challenges including low standard of living, no means of income generation, extreme poverty, and low self-esteem thereby paving the way for consistent gender-based violence, discrimination, traditions, and practices against women and girls. The project will equip disabled and rural women and girls from low-income backgrounds with marketable vocational skills in tailoring, pastry, sewing country clothes, hairdressing, making soap, and small business management skills.
The project implementing organization, Give Them Hope, Inc. and the beneficiaries have begun providing local support as skills training is going on at a low scale until our funding goal at the GlobalGiving Platform is met. Kindly find attached some of our recent gatherings, meetings, and training. photos.

Rural Women Eager for Vocational Skills Training
By C. Christian Zarweah | Project Leader
Give Them Hope Women at Skills Workshop
Give Them Hope, Inc. has decisively mobilized rural women and girls in rural Liberia by engaging these women and girls in skills training at a lower level since we have not reached our target funding goal for large-scale vocational skills training. We have had mobilization workshops encouraging the women to turn out at scheduled locations in the numbers of 25-30 to undergo skills training in improved methods of gardening that will combat the effect and impact of climate change at the local level. We also trained some of these women in making soap, pastry, and small business skills management.
We have not reached our fundraising goal, but we are using the available resources, skills, and resolve to provide these very vulnerable rural women and girls the skills and knowledge that they need to improve their lives and increase their income capacity.

Empowering Rural Women with Vocational Skills Repo
By C. Christian Zarweah | Project Leader
Training Rural Women and Girls by Give Them Hope,
Rural women and girls in rural Liberia continue to battle with multiple poverty issues because of the lack of income-generating skills and abilities. Rural women and girls are discriminated against with no equal rights all because of the lack of good financial status. Give Them Hope, Inc has been changing the story around by providing these very vulnerable rural women and girls with marketable vocational skills that they overcome multi-dimensional poverty and inequalities. We provide vocational training in pastry, soap making, gardening, and cattle raising so that these impoverished rural populations combat generational poverty which is the usual trend for rural women and girls. We conduct training also in small business management. We provide a wider platform to empower and equip these women to escape extreme poverty and gender-based violence all associated with low-income status. See some of our photos in the villages and even on the farms to ensure that these victims of years of war and the Ebola and Coronavirus are empowered and equipped with the needed skills and knowledge to reach their potential in life. See attached some of our training photos.
