Smile Charity South Sudan carried out an effective teacher training activity in Pigi County with the aim of improving the capacity of the local teachers as well as the teaching and learning process. The event targeted a group of 15 teachers, who are made up of 13 male and 2 female teachers who are actively involved in offering education within their institutions.
The training aimed at improving teachers' technical capacity through competent classroom management, teaching methods, planning, and basic assessment. The training also covered issues concerning child protection, inclusive education, and the need to ensure a protective and facilitating learning environment for all, irrespective of gender.
The training session made it easier for participants to interact and brainstorm through group discussions and practical exercises, and even shared experiences helped in identifying challenges in schools and developing workable solutions for implementation in their teaching capacity. The training session is a step in the right direction for improving the education system in Pigi County and ensuring community development through quality education.
