Update Report May - Aug 2021

By Piter Panjaitan | Project Leader

Dear Donors and Friends,

May- Aug 2021 was still a difficult months to our Women Workshop. But we would also want to inform that all of our beneficiaries and all of our staff and management are safe and well. We want to send our Gratitude to all of you who have been supporting us all along these few years. We pray that you and your family are also well despite all of this pandemic.

Bali is still closed for International Tourism until further notice, which impact the region with a big hit. There are many businesses closed down and the unemployment rates are increasing the last 1.5 years. We also have many sponsors back down and stop their support towards our program. We still facing multiple lockdown or "Emergency Measure" as our government called it, due to new Varian of COVID19 (Delta Varian) spreading widely in Indonesia, since July 2021

We know that everyone is struggling at this moment due to Civid-19 Pandemic, and we are very grateful that you still continue to support us through this difficult time. Without your support and donation, we won’t be able to run our program and change the life of many.

You make this happen!!

By the time you receive this report, we are able to continue our program for the Women Workshop. We are able to do things below and many more, The Women’s Workshop which has space for 10 women in the future run five days a week between the hours of 9am – 5pm. The women who come are mostly the mothers of the children attending the Centre. The women taught how to make whatever the customer’s request e.g. handicrafts, jewelry, etc. there are also sewing machines, which can be used. The women supervised and trained by Bali Life staff.

The workshop is not only to provide the women with a regular income but also to add additional income to the family that eventually will enable them to move out of the dump area to a healthier environment. On this pandemic situation is hard for us as there are very minimum orders that we received. But, we are still able to support the mums and the family with basic supplies and provide them with Breakfast and Lunch from Monday to Friday.

For the mothers attending the Women’s Workshop, they gain many more skills, which increase their ability to continue working at the Workshop or eventually, find appropriate paid work It is expected that as a result of health education and free medical support the health and well-being of the beneficiaries will increase. By receiving donations of clothing, personal toiletry items like shampoo, toothpaste, soap etc. the standard of living will improve for the beneficiaries significantly.

All Donors, with this Final Report we wanted to thank you for your donation, as we achieved our "target".

Note: All Donors with recurring Donation will be directed to our new project to help other beneficiaries (Scavenger/Trash Pickers Community in Bali)
