On a mission is to help mothers get off the streets and escape poverty. Our goal is to equip and empower 10 mothers with the skills they need to earn a living. We will then work and fund 1 of these mums each year to open their own small business. You can help the mothers by supporting them in creating a small business that's sustainable. Teaching them these skills will equip them to be employed or start their own business. The project will be a sustainable solution for mothers living in poverty.
In Bali, it is common for mothers living on the streets to force their children to beg for money so they can live another day. These women are unable to get a job because they don't possess any skills, e.g. they can't read or write. These street mothers are not educated or aware that they need to learn skills in order to help them get a job so they stop living in poverty. There are mothers living in the slums and their day consists of simply sorting trash to live. This is a huge problem in Bali
Our program will teach these street mothers useful skills to help them be able to apply or a job or even start their own business. The gain knowledge, build relationships with other mothers and a strong community that supports them. Mothers will learn to make handicrafts and jewelry - which are sold all over the world. Every day a street woman is at work means their children don't have to beg on the streets. This program is a sustainable solution to help street women escape the trap of poverty.
Our mothers are also able to bring their kids into our centre where they can learn and hang out with friends. The solution allows the mothers to work hard and not worry about their children. The soft skills these mothers learn enable them to provide for their family. The long-term impact is mothers are able to provide for their family so their children don't enter the cycle of poverty. The long-term impact is simply breaking the generational effects where families escape poverty for generations.
