This quarter, ORG Bahamas continued working directly with communities across the country to strengthen citizen participation and ensure that Bahamians have a voice in shaping the future of their nation.
One important focus of our work has been facilitating community conversations in Exuma and Eleuthera, where residents came together to share their perspectives on environmental protection, climate change, and the future development of their islands. These discussions created meaningful space for people to speak openly about the challenges their communities face and the solutions they believe can help build a more resilient Bahamas.
When citizens are invited into these conversations early and respectfully, they become powerful partners in shaping better decisions for their communities. Our engagement work helps demonstrate that citizen voices matter and can influence national conversations about sustainability, development, and governance.
This quarter we also hosted Integrity Week, a national initiative that encourages Bahamians—especially young people—to see themselves as active participants in building a more transparent and accountable country. The campaign sparked conversations about integrity, responsibility, and the role each of us can play in strengthening public trust in our institutions.
In the coming months, ORG will also begin promoting best practices for stakeholder engagement and a national model for community-level consultation, helping ensure that citizens across The Bahamas have clear and meaningful opportunities to contribute to decisions that affect their lives.
Across these efforts, we continue to see something encouraging: Bahamians want to be involved in shaping their future.
Your support helps create the spaces where those voices can be heard. Together, we are helping build a stronger culture of civic participation and a more resilient Bahamas.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
