Education remains one of the most effective ways to protect girls from child marriage and other forms of vulnerability. Through this project, the Girl Child Foundation Uganda is helping girls access quality education while raising awareness about the importance of protecting children's rights.
During this reporting period, scholarships and educational materials were provided to vulnerable girls facing significant barriers to education. This support enabled beneficiaries to remain in school and continue working toward their academic goals. By reducing financial obstacles, the project has helped families keep girls in classrooms where they can learn and grow.
Community awareness activities focused on the protective value of education. Parents, teachers, and community leaders participated in workshops discussing how child marriage negatively affects health, education, and future opportunities. These sessions encouraged participants to take active roles in safeguarding girls and promoting educational success.
Girls also benefited from life-skills training and mentorship programs that strengthened their confidence and decision-making abilities. Through these activities, participants learned how to set goals, manage challenges, and make informed choices about their futures.
The combined impact of education, mentorship, and advocacy is creating safer pathways for girls and reducing the risk factors associated with early marriage. Communities are increasingly recognizing the importance of supporting girls through secondary education and beyond.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our donors and supporters. Your generosity is helping protect vulnerable girls, expand educational opportunities, and build stronger communities where every child has the chance to thrive.
