End Early Child Marriage in rural Uganda

The Girl Child Foundation Uganda remains dedicated to creating a future where every girl has the opportunity to complete her education and live free from the threat of child marriage. This reporting period reflects important progress toward that vision through education support, mentorship, and community engagement.

Educational assistance continued to be a cornerstone of the project. Scholarships and school supplies enabled vulnerable girls to remain in school despite financial hardships. By addressing these barriers, the project helped improve attendance and reduced the likelihood of school dropout among beneficiaries.

Mentorship and life-skills training provided girls with practical knowledge and emotional support. Participants learned about leadership, communication, decision-making, and personal development, empowering them to make informed choices and pursue their ambitions with confidence.

Community outreach activities engaged parents, caregivers, and local leaders in discussions about the importance of girls' education and the harmful effects of child marriage. These conversations encouraged greater community commitment to protecting children's rights and supporting educational opportunities for girls.

The progress achieved demonstrates the power of combining direct support with advocacy and awareness. Girls are gaining confidence, families are becoming more supportive, and communities are increasingly recognizing the importance of gender equality and education.
