Families play a critical role in shaping the future of girls. Through this project, The Girl Child Foundation Uganda continues to work closely with parents and caregivers to strengthen support for girls' education and reduce the prevalence of child marriage in rural communities.
During this reporting period, community workshops brought together parents, guardians, and local leaders to discuss the challenges girls face in accessing education. Participants explored the social and economic consequences of child marriage and learned how education can create opportunities for long-term development and financial stability. These discussions encouraged families to view education as an investment rather than a burden.
The project also provided scholarships, school supplies, and mentorship to girls at risk of dropping out. This support helped relieve financial pressures that often force families to make difficult decisions regarding their daughters' education. Beneficiaries reported improved attendance and greater motivation to continue learning.
In addition, life-skills sessions equipped girls with knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their futures. They learned practical skills in communication, leadership, and personal development, helping them navigate challenges both in and outside the classroom.
As a result of these efforts, more families are actively supporting girls to remain in school and complete their education. Positive changes in attitudes and behaviors are contributing to safer environments where girls can pursue their dreams.
We sincerely thank our donors and supporters. Your contributions are helping families become champions of education and creating brighter futures for girls across rural Uganda.
