COMMUNITY VOICES AGAINST CHILD MARRIAGE

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Dear Supporters,

We sincerely appreciate your continued support of our mission to end child marriage in rural Uganda. Your generosity is helping amplify community voices that advocate for girls' rights and educational opportunities.

During this reporting period, community awareness activities brought together parents, youth, teachers, religious leaders, and local authorities to discuss the challenges facing girls and the importance of preventing child marriage. These conversations encouraged greater collaboration and strengthened community commitment to child protection.

Many participants shared their experiences and concerns regarding the impact of child marriage on education, health, and future opportunities. As awareness continues to grow, more community members are becoming advocates for positive change and supporters of girls' education.

Girls participating in mentorship programs received encouragement and guidance that helped strengthen their confidence and resilience. Through life-skills training, they developed leadership abilities and learned strategies for overcoming challenges that may threaten their education.

Teachers reported encouraging improvements in attendance and participation among girls involved in project activities. Schools continue to play a valuable role in supporting students and promoting educational success.

Local leaders remained active champions of children's rights, encouraging families to prioritize education and report child protection concerns when necessary.

The collective voices of community members are helping drive meaningful progress in the fight against child marriage. Together, we are creating environments where girls can remain in school, pursue their dreams, and build successful futures.

Thank you for helping communities become powerful advocates for change.
