STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY AWARENESS

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Dear Donors and Supporters,

Thank you for your continued commitment to ending early child marriage in rural Uganda. Your support is helping us strengthen community awareness and create safer environments where girls can pursue education and achieve their dreams.

During this reporting period, our team conducted awareness campaigns in several communities, engaging parents, guardians, teachers, religious leaders, and youth. Discussions focused on the dangers of child marriage, the importance of girls' education, and the role every community member can play in protecting vulnerable children.

Many parents expressed a greater understanding of the long-term benefits of keeping girls in school. Community members also shared challenges contributing to early marriage, including poverty and limited access to educational resources. These conversations have encouraged collaborative efforts to find local solutions.

Girls participating in the project attended mentorship and life-skills sessions designed to build confidence and resilience. They learned about their rights, personal development, and the value of education in creating future opportunities.

Teachers reported increased participation among girls who have benefited from project activities. Many students are showing greater determination to continue their education despite social and economic challenges.

Local leaders have strengthened their commitment to monitoring and responding to cases of child marriage. Their involvement is helping improve child protection efforts and raise community accountability.

While challenges remain, we continue to see positive changes in attitudes and behaviors. Together, we are building communities that value education, protect children's rights, and support girls in reaching their full potential.

Thank you for making this important work possible
