MENTORSHIP MAKING A DIFFERENCE

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for supporting our mission to end child marriage and empower girls in rural Uganda. This reporting period highlighted the powerful role mentorship continues to play in transforming young lives.

Many girls in our project communities face challenges that threaten their education, including poverty, social pressures, and limited opportunities. Through regular mentorship sessions, participants received guidance, encouragement, and practical skills that help them navigate these obstacles.

Mentors worked closely with girls to build self-confidence, improve communication skills, and strengthen their ability to make informed decisions about their futures. Participants also learned about their rights and the importance of education in achieving long-term success.

Several girls shared inspiring stories about how mentorship has helped them remain focused on their studies despite difficult circumstances. They expressed increased confidence in pursuing careers and becoming positive contributors to their communities.

Community engagement activities complemented these efforts by encouraging parents and local leaders to support girls' education. Awareness sessions helped families understand the risks associated with child marriage and the benefits of allowing girls to complete their education.

Schools reported encouraging improvements in student participation and attendance. Teachers observed that girls involved in mentorship activities demonstrated greater confidence and engagement in classroom learning.

The impact of mentorship extends beyond individual participants. As girls gain knowledge and confidence, they become role models who inspire others to pursue education and reject harmful practices.

Thank you for helping provide mentorship opportunities that are empowering girls to build stronger, more hopeful futures.
