A COLLECTIVE COMMITMENT TO GIRLS

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Dear Friends,

We are pleased to share another update on the progress of our End Early Child Marriage in Rural Uganda project. Your support continues to inspire a collective commitment to protecting girls and promoting their education.

Throughout this reporting period, project activities focused on strengthening community involvement in safeguarding vulnerable children. Parents, teachers, religious leaders, and local authorities participated in awareness sessions that highlighted the importance of girls' rights and educational opportunities.

These discussions encouraged greater collaboration among stakeholders and reinforced the message that every community member has a role to play in preventing child marriage. Many participants expressed stronger commitment to supporting girls' education and helping them achieve their aspirations.

Girls involved in mentorship programs benefited from guidance that strengthened their confidence, leadership skills, and personal development. They were encouraged to set goals, overcome challenges, and remain focused on their studies. Several participants shared inspiring stories about their hopes of becoming professionals and community leaders.

Teachers reported that girls participating in project activities demonstrated increased classroom engagement and improved attendance. These positive outcomes highlight the value of providing both educational and emotional support to vulnerable students.

Community leaders continue to champion child protection efforts and encourage families to prioritize education over early marriage. Their active involvement is contributing to safer and more supportive environments for girls.

The progress we are witnessing is the result of a shared commitment among donors, families, schools, and communities. Together, we are helping girls build brighter futures and realize their full potential.

Thank you for being part of this important journey.
