STRENGTHENING CHILD PROTECTION EFFORTS

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Dear Friends,

We are grateful for your ongoing support of our mission to end child marriage and promote the well-being of girls in rural Uganda. Your contributions continue to strengthen child protection efforts across the communities we serve.

Throughout this reporting period, we worked closely with local leaders, schools, parents, and community members to raise awareness about children's rights and the dangers of child marriage. These collaborative efforts are helping create safer environments where girls can grow, learn, and thrive.

Community sensitization meetings encouraged participants to identify and address factors that place girls at risk. Parents gained a better understanding of their role in protecting children and supporting educational opportunities. Many expressed commitment to ensuring their daughters remain in school.

Mentorship activities continued to provide girls with guidance, encouragement, and life skills. Participants learned about self-confidence, leadership, and decision-making while building supportive relationships with mentors and peers.

Schools reported positive outcomes among participating students, including improved attendance and greater classroom engagement. Teachers remain important partners in identifying vulnerable children and providing support when challenges arise.

Local leaders have strengthened efforts to monitor child protection concerns and encourage community reporting of child marriage cases. Their leadership is helping improve accountability and increase awareness of children's rights.

While challenges remain, we are encouraged by the growing commitment to protecting girls and promoting education. Together, we are building stronger systems that safeguard children and create opportunities for brighter futures.

Thank you for making this important work possible.
