End Early Child Marriage in rural Uganda

During this reporting period, we continued to engage communities in discussions about children's rights, gender equality, and the importance of education. Through community dialogues and awareness campaigns, parents, teachers, and local leaders gained a deeper understanding of the challenges girls face and the collective responsibility required to protect them.

Girls participating in the project attended mentorship sessions that focused on leadership, self-confidence, and personal development. These sessions encouraged participants to recognize their potential and pursue educational opportunities that can help them achieve their goals. Many girls expressed increased confidence and determination to remain in school despite challenges.

Schools remain key partners in supporting vulnerable students. Teachers reported encouraging improvements in attendance and participation among girls involved in project activities. These positive outcomes demonstrate the value of combining educational support with mentorship and community engagement.

Local leaders have continued to strengthen advocacy efforts aimed at preventing child marriage and promoting child protection. Their involvement is helping foster a culture where girls' rights are respected and valued.

Although challenges remain, we are encouraged by the progress being made. Communities are increasingly embracing positive practices that support girls' well-being and future success.
